A total of 10,311 voters participated in this year's election, marking a turnout of 59.31% among the 17,386 registered voters. The breakdown of voters. The breakdown of votes included 5,279 cast on Election Day, 1,009 paper absentee ballots, and 4,023 walk-in absentee ballots across 16 precincts.


Presidential Race

The presidential race saw a strong showing from Republican candidate Donald Trump, who secured 74.78% of the vote, reflecting robust support among Trump fans and Republicans in the region. Democratic candidate Kamala Harris received 23.40%, while Libertarian candidate Chase Oliver garnered 0.38%. Robert Kennedy Jr., running as an independent, achieved 1.24% of the vote.


U.S. Senate Race

In the race for U.S. Senator, 69.63% of voters backed the Republican candidate Jim Banks, indicating significant Republican dominance. Democrat Valerie McRae earned 27.58% of the vote, while Libertarian Andrew Horning captured 1.10%.


Governor and Lieutenant Governor

The race for Governor and Lieutenant Governor also highlighted Republican strength, with 56.86% of voters choosing Mike Braun/Micah Beckwith. The Democratic ticket, represented by Jennifer McCormick/Terry Goodin, received 39.65%.


Attorney General

The race for Attorney General had notable results, with 70.05% of voters aligning with the Republican candidate Todd Rokita and 29.95% with Democrat Destiny Wells.


United States Representative District 9

Republican Erin Houchin secured 72.99% of the vote, demonstrating a significant lead over Democrat Timothy (Tim) Peck, who received 24.63%. Libertarian Russell (Russ) Brooksbank garnered 2.36%.


State Representative District 66

Republican Zach Payne won with 70.31% of the vote, defeating Democrat Jennifer David, who received 29.69%.


State Representative District 69

Republican Jim Lucas earned 67.70% of the vote, while Democrat Trish Whitcomb received 32.30%.


Circuit Court Clerk

Republican Michelle Shelton secured 63.06% of the vote, while Democrat Stacey Broady Turner earned 36.94%.


County Recorder

Republican Sarah M. Helton won with 66.30% of the vote, defeating Democrat Kristi Richie-Johnson who received 33.70%


County Treasurer

Republican Ryan Gabbard captured 55.40% of the vote, while Democrat Missy Applegate received 44.60%.


County Coroner

Bryton Richey won unopposed with 100% of the vote.


County Surveyor

Republican Mark A. Gardner ran unopposed and received 100% of the vote.


County Commissioner District 1

Republican Randy Julian secured 58.77% of the vote, while Democrat Donnie Richie earned 41.23%.


County Commissioner District 2

Republican Adam Bomar received 48.80% of the vote, Democrat Larry Blevins garnered 31.94%, and Independent David G. Barrett secured 19.26%.


County Council Member At-Large

In the closely contested race for Scott County Council Member At-large, the top three winners emerged after a competitive election. Democrat John C. Lizenby secured the highest percentage of votes with 19.58%, followed by Democrat James Richey with 18.84%, and Republican Justin Cheatham, who garnered 18.29%. These three candidates will represent the community on the County Council. Republican John Hardin (17.84%), Democrat Teresa Baker Vannarsdall (12.15%), and Democrat Jim Boswell (12.31%) followed closely behind in the race.


Scott County School Board District 1 Jennings Township

The election for the Scott County School Board District 1 Jennings Township saw three candidates rising to the top. David F. Deaton lead with 32.73%, followed by Kasey white at 23.34%, and Michael Bautista with 22.99%. These candidates will take their places on the school board. Darlene Hall, who received 20.95% of the vote, narrowly missed securing a seat in this highly competitive race.


Scott County School District 2 Finley Township

Melissa Jean Woods (50.80%) will take her seat over Terry Lee Jones (49.20%).


Scott County School District 2 Johnson Township

Dustin D. McIntosh (45.42%) beat out William (BJ) Best (39.35%) and Wesley (Wes) Cowan (15.24%).


Scott County School District 2 Vienna Township

Rick Zollman will once again sit on the board with 58.65% of the votes, while Gene Ann Shapinsky Shawler garnered 41.35%.


Straight Party Votes

Republican Party: 1,901 votes

Democrat Party: 529 votes

We the People: 1 vote


These results reflect the strong support for Republican candidates across multiple races, with Democrats and Libertarians facing significant challenges in swaying electorate.
