Lydia Jane Jackson, born on November 25, 1973, in New Albany, Indiana, passed away peacefully on March 5, 2025, in Sellersburg, Indiana, surrounded by her loving family.



Lydia devoted herself to caring for others, yet her greatest passion was being a caretaker to her family. Her family was her world, and she poured her love and energy into every aspect of their lives.

Lydia's warmth and cheerful spirit were especially evident in her interactions with children. Whenever there were little ones around, you could always find Lydia engaged with them, sharing her joy and affection. Her kind-hearted nature touched the lives of all who knew her, and she cherished her time spent shopping, spending money when she could, and reveling in life's special moments with the love of her life, Stirrel.

She was not only a dedicated caretaker at home but also a proud member of Emmaus Road Church, where she found community and connection that enriched her life.

Lydia is survived by her beloved children: son, Raymond "Austin" Robards; daughter, Marriah Carol (Tyler) Higdon; son, Joshua Louis Masticola; and daughter, Erika Renee Jackson. She was a grandmother to two cherished grandchildren, Oaklee and Miles, in addition to being a devoted sister to brother, George R. (April) Robards. Lydia also leaves behind her nephew Gregory Robards, along with several other nieces, nephews, cousins, and her best friend Rebecca Shoots.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Stirrel Jackson, Jr., her parents, Raymond Louis Robards Jr. and Janice Carol Robards, her sister, Rhonda Gayle Meredith, and her brother, Raymond Louis Robards, III.



A funeral service was held on March 12 at Newcomer Funeral Home, located at 3309 Ballard Ln, New Albany, IN 47150.

The family requests that contributions in Lydia’s memory be made to American Cancer Society.


Beatrice Rainbolt Dean, 98 of Scottsburg, formerly of Corydon and Charlestown, Indiana. passed away March 6, 2025.

She was born in Corydon to the late Maurice and Etna Barley Rainbolt on November 30, 1926.

She graduated from Corydon High School, class of 1944. She married in Corydon and had five sons. She moved to Charlestown in 1957, where she made her home for the next 40 years. She was a clerk at the Tobias (B&T) Drug store.

She is preceded in death by her sisters, Marjorie Holt and Wilma Rainbolt; and her brothers, Edmond and Robert Rainbolt.

Surviving to cherish her memories are her sons, Robin (Sandy) Dean of Pendleton, KY, Terry Dean of Scottsburg, Alan Dean of Indianapolis, Tim (Martha) Dean of Florida, and Ricky (Melissa) Dean of Indianapolis; fourteen grandchildren; and twenty two great-grandchildren.

She passed away at Hampton Oaks Health Campus under the care of the very precious and loving staff.

Judith Ann Baukol Nelson, 79, of Sellersburg, Indiana, passed away peacefully at 8:15 a.m. on Saturday, March 8, 2025 at Traditions at Hunter Station.

Born in Bimarck, North Dakota, she was the daughter of the late Rudolph P. Baukol and Ruth Hoyer Baukol.

Judith dedicated her life to education, teaching in both public and private schools. She found great joy in shaping minds and making a lasting impact on her students. Above all, she charished spending time with her family creating lifelong memories with those she loved most.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved husband, Richard LeRoy Nelson.

Judith is survived by her children, Peder Baukol (Rhesa) Nelson and Natalie Foreman; her grandchildren, Ava Foreman and Davin Nelson; and her sisters, Karen Baukol and Donna Lake.

In accordance with her wishes, cremation has been chosen, and a memorial service will be held at a later date in North Carolina. Chapman Funeral Home has been entrusted with the local arrangements.


JoAnna Ooley, 86 of Sellersburg, Indiana passed away Friday, March 7, 2025, in her residence.

Born November 2, 1938 in Salem, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late Homer and Flora (Voyles) Sullivan.

She was a homemaker and loved spending time with her grandkids. She was a member of the Daisy Hill United Methodist Church and had been a resident of Washington County for most of her life.

She married Lawrence Ooley, who passed away June 22, 2017.

Survivors include: 3 Sons: Mark (Deborah) Ooley of Fisherville, Ky, Joseph Ooley of Borden and Shawn (Cheryl) Ooley of Colorado Springs; 1 Daughter: Tonya Ooley of Sellersburg; 2 Sisters: Sue (Dave) Saylor of Pekin and Delores Neeley of Martinsburg and 4 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by: brothers and sisters; Don, Bob, Jack and Tony Sullivan, Wilma Sullivan, Mayetta Kersey, Bonnie Roberts, Jean Holsapple and Mary Emerson.

Her funeral service was held on Monday, March 10 at Dawalt Funeral Home, followed by interment in Crown Hill Cemetery.

Paul Wesley Dooley, Sr., 74, formerly of Jeffersonville, IN, passed away on Monday, March 10, 2025.

He was born on December 8, 1950, in Jeffersonville, IN, to Albert W. Dooley, Sr. and Jean M. Ellison Dooley. Paul was an outdoor salesman for Marcone Supply of St. Louis, MO, working several years at Jeffboat, Inc.

Paul enjoyed hiking in the mountains near Gatlinburg, TN, where he and his wife spent a lot of time. He was a supporter of the Louisville Cardinals and the Kentucky Wildcats. He was a big fan of eating at Ollie’s Trolley in Louisville and watching Star Trek movies and The Big Bang Theory. Paul was all about his family, and he especially loved spending time with his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Albert W. Dooley, Sr.

Paul is survived by his wife, Roberta Raisley Dooley, son, Paul Dooley, Jr. (Jennifer Deaton) of Charlestown, IN; daughter, SarahBeth Cortez of Louisville, KY; mother Jean Dooley of Clarksville, IN, sister, LuAnn Conner (Ken) of Sellersburg, IN, brothers, Albert W. Dooley, Jr., (Sherry) of Jeffersonville, and Joe Dooley (Kathy) of Charlestown; grandchildren, Morgan Bush, Paula Dooley, Paul W. Dooley, III, Joey Quiggins, Faith Dooley, Grace Quiggins, Tyler Peterson, Darienne Peterson, Alexis Deaton and Taylor Deaton; great grandchildren, Maizlinn Bush, Nevaeh Bush, Briella Bush, Penelope Bush, Zeke Thorstad, Addison Dooley, Maxine Thorstad, Kash Dooley, Kameron Hunter, Mila Hunter and Jayce Gamble.

Life Celebration Services were held on Sunday, March 16, 2025, at Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown.


Daniel C. Cox, Jr., 62 of Jeffersonville, IN, passed away on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at the University of Louisville Hospital.

He was born on September 14, 1962, in Christiansburg, VA, to Daniel C. Cox, Sr. and Dolly S. Price Cox. Daniel was an Army veteran and a retired manager in the automated repair business. Daniel enjoyed reading, listening to music, and spending time with his family and friends.

Survivors include his sister, Tammy Boman and her husband Tim of Marysville, IN; fiancé, Nonnie Hughes of Otisco, IN; nephew, Jason Case (Kelly); niece, Brooke Mehling (Garrett), great nephew, Preston Daniel Case, great niece Wrenley Nicole Mehling, and his faithful companion, Rusty.

Life Celebration Services were held on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown, with burial in Charlestown Cemetery.


Herbert J. "Herbie" Mauck Jr., 76, a devoted family man, proud veteran, and outdoors enthusiast, passed away on Monday, March 10, 2025 at the Robley Rex VA Medical Center.

Born on February 1, 1949, in Salem, Indiana, Herbie was the son of Herbert Mauck Sr. and Thelma Casey Mauck. He graduated from Salem High School in 1967. Completed HVAC and Heavy Equipment Operator schooling.

Herbie voluntarily enlisted in the United States Army, serving a tour and a half in Vietnam and afterwards in the Army National Guard. His bravery was recognized with three Bronze Stars and several other military honors.

After his military service, Herbie worked for the Henry Vogt in the 1980's and later for the Clark County Highway Department. Herbie and his wife, Beth, owned and operated Mauck's General Store in South Boston for 12 years. He also founded Wild Turkey Farms Inc. and retired from the Indiana DNR at Deam Lake.

Herbie loved nothing more than spending time outdoors. He enjoyed riding his Harley, hunting, fishing, mushroom hunting, and exploring the country with Beth. He was also an avid euchre player and loved playing with family and friends. Herbie was a proud Democrat, UAW member and devoted family man, always prioritizing time with his grandchildren, family and friends.

Herbert J. "Herbie" Mauck Jr. will be deeply missed by his loved ones and community. His unwavering commitment to family and country will be remembered for generations to come.

He is survived by his wife: Elizabeth (Lumley) Mauck they were married May 29, 198/7. He is also survived by three children: James Mauck (Betty) of Corydon, Jeffrey Mauck (Michelle) of Borden and Anna Hall (Jerame) of Pekin, two brothers: Marvin E. Mauck (Marion) of Salem, and Dale Mauck (Bernice) of Salem, a sister: Wanda Gale Cook of Bedford, three grandchildren: Ryan Lee (April) of Paoli, Jameson Hall (Maty) of New Albany, and Diesel Mauck of Borden, and three great-grandchildren: Lowen, Tobi and Abner.

Herbert is preceded in death by: a son Wesley Humphrey, a sister: Patricia "Patty" Mauck, and his parents.

Judy Elaine Forry, 82, of Jeffersonville, Indiana, passed away on March 12, 2025, at Bridgepoint Gardens Assisted Living.

She was born on June 25, 1942, in Superior, Wisconsin, to the late Hjalmer and Esther Larson.

Judy had a heart full of compassion, which she poured into her work as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). She was dedicated to her profession and provided exceptional care to those in need. In addition to her career, Judy was a wonderful homemaker and caregiver, always putting the needs of her family first.

A member of the Rock of Hope Apostolic Church in Sellersburg, Indiana, Judy’s faith and devotion were central to her life. She played the piano and enjoyed singing traditional gospel hymns. Her favorite times were with her family, whether it was, playing golf, fishing, thrifting or tending to her yard. Her warmth, generosity, and loving spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her parents, Judy was preceded in death by her late husband Lloyd Forry; a daughter, Candice Waukau; a grandson, Nichols Mains and 8 siblings.

She was survived by her children; Jon Mains(Rebekah), Timothy Mains(Peggy), Tom Mains(Kim), James Mains(Jennifer), Scott Forry(Barbara), Kim Olson(Russ); along with 14 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

There will be a visitation held on Thursday, March 27, 2025 from 4-8 p.m. at O’Halloran & Murphy Woodbury Cremation and Funeral Service, 8700 Valley Creek Rd, Woodbury, MN 55125. Service will be held on Friday, March 28, 2025 at 11 am with more visitation before from 10-11 a.m.
