Joshua Renfro Becomes Leading Scorer at CAI

The Christian Academy of Indiana Warriors Boys Basketball Team has a new all time leading scorer and his name is Joshua Renfro. The record was previously held by Dave Scott who has held the record since 1987. Renfro now holds the record at 1,828 points. (Joshua would score over 2,000 points in her career.) Here is what Renfro said, “first and foremost I am truly blessed and give God all the glory. I want to thank my coaches and teammates for always believing in me and for trusting me. Breaking the school record is something that you dream about doing, but to actually accomplish it is something I will never take for granted. The past four years have been truly special to me, to play under coach Casey and to play with some of my best friends is something that I wish could last forever. To break a record that was held by someone like David Scott is a great honor to me because he is the best player to ever play at this school.” Renfo is not only a great basketball player, but he is also very humble. The record could not have been broken by someone who is more deserving than Renfro. Renfo has been a wrecking force for the Warriors ever since he was a freshman and he has never let up. Here is what coach Hayden Casey had to say about Renfro, “I couldn't be happier for Joshua breaking our school's all-time record. One of my favorite parts about coaching is seeing a kid's hard work play off, and Joshua is the best example I know of a kid who puts in so much work to be the best player he can be. Joshua is and always has been an absolute coach's dream, thanks to his talent and even more so thanks to the amazing young man he is. I'm so thankful that I get to coach Joshua and him breaking our school's record is a memory we'll all cherish, and it goes back to just being so happy for the young man and his family.” Congratulations, Joshua Renfro.
