A public hearing has been scheduled by the Austin Advisory Plan Commission for Wednesday, October 30, at 5:30 p.m., at Austin City Hall. The hearing will address a rezoning request submitted by Rauch, Inc., a real estate development company based in New Albany.
Rauch, Inc. is proposing the construction of a 48-unit community comprised of single-story duplexes and triplexes on the southwest side of Austin. The development would be located on a vacant 7-acre property along West York Road, currently zoned as R-1 Residential. The company has requested to rezone the parcels to R-2 Residential to allow for the development of the proposed housing units.
The property is owned by the Tex Murphy Estate, and the sale and subsequent development is contingent upon the approval of the rezoning. The public is encouraged to attend the hearing to express support or concerns regarding the proposed project.
