
Scott, Clark, and Washington County Player of the Year

For the second year in a row, the Scott, Clark, and Washington County Paper is putting together a Basketball All-Herald Team. However, each county has a male and female player of the year. At this point, the awards and team has not been announced yet but, we know who the player of the year is for each county.
Choosing a player of the year is the hardest thing to do, which is why it is only open to seniors however, any high school player can be on the All-Herald Team. So, lets start off with Scott County.
The Scott County Herald Male Player of the Year is Beau Napier. Napier played for the Crothersville Tigers and is an excellent three point shooter. Napier would score his 1,000 career point this last season and would break several school records. congratulations, Beau Napier.
The Scott County Herald Female Player of the Year is Ellie Richardson. Richardson played for the Scottsburg Warriorettes and was one outstanding player. Richardson broke several school records such as, most consecutive free throws made, most assists in a game, all time assist leader. Richardson is the only player in Warriorette history to total over 1600 points, 500 assists, and 500 rebounds. Congratulations, Ellie Richardson.
Next, we have the Clark County Herald Male Player of the Year and that belongs to Joshua Renfro. Renfro played for Christian Academy of Indiana and became the all the time leading scorer and even scored over 2,000 career points. Here are some other accomplishments, 68 career wins, 2 time sectional champion, and shot 47% from beyond the three point line and made 332 three pointers. Congratulations, Joshua Renfro.
The Clark County Herald Female Player of the Year is Leah Stevens. Stevens played for Christian Academy of Indiana and would score over 1,000 career points. Stevens would also held lead the team to 14 wins which is the most wins the team has ever had. Stevens would help lead the team to two wins in the sectional this past season which has never happened in Lady Warrior history. Congratulations, Leah Stevens.
The Washington County Herald County Male Player of the Year is Cody Banet. Banet played for Eastern (Pekin). Banet scored over 1,000 career points this past season and led to his team to the Semi-Final of the Sectional. Congratulations, Cody Banet. The Washington County Herald Female Player of the Year is Emma Schmidt. Schmidt played for West Washington and would be named the PLAC FCA Sports Character Counts Award Winner. Congratulations, Emma Schmidt. We are still finalizing the All-Herald Team and will announce that after we give out awards.
