Scott County celebrates tourism with Inaugural Scarecrow Contest; winners announced

The Scott County Visitors Commission held its first Scarecrow Contest, awarding prizes to three winners to promote local tourism. Commissioner Randy Julian introduced the idea at a Scott County Board of Commissioners meeting and contributed $1000 for event advertising. The contest attracted 35 entries from across the county, with approximately 200 votes cast.
Winners:
1st Place: Lexington Presbyterian Church with their "Fishers of Men" Scarecrow, winning $500.
2nd Place: 752 Cafe's variety of scarecrows, winning $300.
3rd Place: West Banco's "Family Car" Scarecrow, winning $150.
The prize money was generously donated by Coomer's Towing of Austin.
