A recent award of the Community Crossings Matching Grant will provide significant funding ($1,401,839.40) to improve local roads and bridges in Scott County. The grant, administered by the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT), will cover up to 75% of construction costs and materials for approved projects under the Local Roads and Bridges Matching Grant Agreement.
The grant program is part of Indiana's initiative to invest in infrastructure development, benefiting both urban and rural communities. These funds will aid in enhancing road and bridge infrastructure, promoting economic growth, creating jobs, and strengthening local transportation networks.
Scott County Commissioner President Randy Julian praised the efforts of Scott County Highway Department Superintendent Kevin Hall for his dedication in securing these grants. “This is such a blessing for Scott County,” Julian stated, emphasizing the importance of continued investment in infrastructure for community development.
