The City of Scottsburg has been awarded a $1.875 million low-interest loan from the Indiana Finance Authority (IFA) to support housing infrastructure development. Scottsburg is among 12 Indiana communities sharing in over $31 million in funding through the second round of the Residential Infrastructure Fun (RIF), a program established to boost housing availability across Indiana.

The funding will be used to develop infrastructure for the new Maple Run Estates, a 307-lot single-family home project planned by D.C. Develop. The development will be locat4ed south of Scottsburg at Lovers Lane and Vienna Road.

The RIF program was created by the Indiana General Assembly in 2023 with a $75 million allocation over two years to assist communities in expanding their housing inventory in response to local job growth. The IFA prioritizes projects in areas with housing-friendly zoning, reserving 70% of funds for communities with populations under 50,000.

This latest round follows an initial distribution in while 11 communities received $51 million in loans. Local officials anticipate that the Maple Run Estates will help with the growing demand for housing in Scottsburg while supporting economic development in the region.
