
SCSD2 board approves sale of Boatman Road property

The Scott County School District 2 (SCSD2) Board has unanimously approved the sale of the Boatman Road property to State Road 56 Partners, LLC, for $1.7 million. The decision was made to align with the district's recovery plan and ensure a swift, beneficial outcome for the community.
The sale, a critical part of the district's financial recovery strategy, has been under discussion since early 2024. Appraised values for the property ranged between $1.5 million and $1.665 million, and the board initially listed it at $2.875 million to reflect its development potential.
Two offers were received quickly. $1.8 million with contingencies, requiring zoning and survey approvals that could delay closing until March 2025 and $1.7 million cash offer with no contingencies, enabling a quick close.
The board voted 5-0 to accept the $1.7 million offer, with the goal of closing the transaction before the end of 2024. Board members commended the diligent work of Krista West and her legal team for facilitating the process.
