Storm destroys church, cemetery in Washington County

A severe storm moved through South Boston and out State Road 160 late Wednesday night last week and into the early morning hours Thursday.

Storms were still being assessed at press time by the National Weather Service and local emergency management.

Pictured is the Conway Community Church located on State Road 60. The roof was ripped completely off the church building and the inside of the church heavily damaged, as well as the cemetery pictured at right.
